MVM Entertainment Acquires ‘Watamote’ UK Anime License

WatamoteMVM Entertainment has picked up one of the more interesting titles that came out last year with Watamote aka No matter how I look at it, it’s you guys fault I’m not popular. The company has not announced what the UK license will look like in terms of release formats yet and dates since the ink hasn’t dried, but they wanted to share the news right away. The series was originally broadcast in the summer of 2013 with Crunchyroll bringing it to a number of regions through simulcast. The show ran for twelve episodes as animated by Silver Link and Sentai Filmworks picked up the home video rights not long after it began. They have not yet announced a release plan, formats or whether it will be dubbed or not.

Plot concept: The protagonist, Kuroki Tomoko, thought she would naturally become popular once she became a “high school girl”, but reality was different… Tomoko panics at her situation and decides to take action to become popular. But… she doesn’t stand out in class, she’s extremely shy, and bad at communicating with others so she has to start by talking to someone other than her family first… The unpopular girl, “Kuroki Tomoko” fights her hardest to become popular, but… Does a bright future await Tomoko?! The struggles of an unpopular girl start here!!
