Australian fans are going to get a treat with this license acquisition from Siren Visual as they’ve picked up the rights to The Devil is a Part-Timer!. The company doesn’t have a firm date for it yet but it will be released in 2014 on both DVD and Blu-ray. The series has been extending its reach in the last few months as FUNimation simulcast it in North America and is releasing it this summer on bilingual DVD and Blu-ray while Manga Entertainment UK picked it up for UK release in 2014 as well. With FUNimation’s release landing in July, it’s expected that these overseas editions will work off of the same materials and dub so they’ll be coming some time after that and likely closer to the end of the year.
Plot concept: Devil King Sadao is only one step away from conquering the world when he is beaten by Hero Emilia and forced to drift to the other world: modern-day Tokyo. As “conquering the world” are the only skills the Devil King possesses—and are obviously unnecessary in his new situation—he must work as a freeter to pay for his living expenses!
