
Set to debut in July 2014, the anime adaptation of Sabagebu – Survival Game Club received a new TV spot that’s been put online this week. The series will be directed by Masahiko Ota with Takashi Aoshima doing the scripts for it and that Pierrot Plus will be handling the animation for the show. This studio has a fair number under its belt to be sure in the last few years, doing a lot of in-between animation for the most part as well as 2nd key animation. They also serves as the main animation studio for Tegami Bachi and Beelzebub.
Ayaka Ohashi has signed on as Momoka Sonokawa, Lynn as Maya Kyodo, Nao Toyama as Kayo Gotokuji, Rumi Ookubo as Urara Kasugano and Yumi Uchiyama as Mio Ootori. You can see the full character design breakdown here. The original manga series was just having its fifth volume released at that time and was part of the overall announcement to get fans excited. The manga, which runs in the shoujo magazine Nakayoshi, comes from Hidekichi Matsumoto and has been running since 2011.
Plot concept: Middle school girl Momoka is dragged into joining one of the strangest associations at her school, the Survival Game Club. Its members participate in various forms of paramilitary training under the watchful eye of charming and alarming president, Miou. How on Earth will the inexperienced Momoka survive her training, let alone Miou’s company?!
