‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Casting Coming Soon

1 min read

Star Wars Episode VII Working TitleSpeaking at the Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television in Los Angeles, Disney chairman Alan Horn made the startling admission to many that Star Wars: Episode VII was already filming. Well, startling to most that exist outside of filmmaking. With the feature planned for a December 18th, 2015 release and principal photography expected to begin in the next month or two, a lot of production filming is underway in terms of staging, location scouting, second unit movement and general modeling and CG work to figure out where everything is. We suspect that Horn was a little disingenuous in saying filming was underway, but we do get some additional useful tidbits for those that are closely watching the J.J. Abrams directed project that he’s co-written with Lawrence “Empire Strikes Back” Kasdan:

Regarding the holy grail of casting,  “We have a lot of them [in place],” said Horn.  “We’re just not completely done yet.”

We’re still not expecting any formal announcements until May the 4th for obvious marketing reasons.
