Engaged to the Unidentified (Mikakunin de Shinkokei) Episode 12 (Finale) | TFP Review

Mikakunin de Shinkoukei Episode 12

Buckeye: And so, the show ends turning something serious into something silly. Hakuya certainly isn’t the most straight guy out there, but he should have said that he was returning. Although Benio has been pretty annoying in this show, at her sudden appearance in the chopper is pretty funny. In all, it was very enjoyable and a nice way to finish off this show.

Overall, this is a pretty fun show to watch, but if there is one thing that really hurts this show, it’s Benio’s sister complex. It’s a cute show with an interesting story considering that this is a 4-koma adaptation. The jokes were hit and miss and it really suffers when they miss. But other than that, this show is just enjoyable despite the common cliches associated with shows like this. The last two episodes are really something given the nature of this show, and it only added to the overall enjoyment.

GingaDaiuchuu: So that wasn’t so much of a cliffhanger as a setup for a punchline. Not the most effective, but it worked well enough in the style that the series has always worked with, and more importantly it further set up for some actual serious content, including a literal cliffhanger that serves to bring the leads just a little bit closer together. It’s still not much, but it’s cute to see in its own way, and the music and brief moments of much more active animation were nice.

So nothing special in general, but a lot better than it could be, so I have no real complaints.

Gildor: Well, that was a pleasant series, if not outstanding. I loved all the antics and miscommunication and confused conclusions they all came to as they interacted. The large cast was used quite well. OTOH, I found the romance, the premise of the whole show, to be weakest part of the whole thing.

Hitsugi Amachi: A rather Meh ending to a rather Meh series. It had its good comic moments, but in the end the central romance did nothing to inspire.

Momoka Kibi: The side story about a romance between two characters that were kind of lacking in terms of personality wasn’t horrible, but wasn’t good idea. That being said the main story about a loli named Mashrio was one of the best ever. She interacted with so many awesome girls. Definitely one of the best series ever. Come on, let me have my delusions, people! In all seriousness the show had some major issues, but as a whole I don’t regret watching it.

Hitsugi Amachi: If she were the main character, it would have been a much better show in some respects, though they’d have had to do something about the supporting characters, making them more interesting.
