Soni-Ani: Super Sonico the Animation Episode 12 (Finale) | TFP Review

Super Sonico Episode 12

EmperorBrandon: Both this episode and the previous episode would have been really well-timed if this had aired in the fall season: we get a new year’s concert from First Astronomical Velocity that stretches the whole episode. The really sweet thing about it is, despite Sonico and friends having a few hardships, all the people she’s interacted with over the course of the series are all happy to help in whatever way they can to make it such a huge success and a lot of fun. It really was such an excellent way to bring everything in the series together for the end.

Grandma is still so awesome. It’s great to see another flashback of her and her old friends’ rocking earlier days.

For a minute there, I was worried they were just going to have [Sayaka] being one of the people watching the concert over “Internet-san”, but no, she gets a great scene of getting her close friend to drive her out to concert. She completed a book, too, and is bringing one for Sonico. Hnnnnng…  Perfect epilogue moments for her, as with a few of the others. Apparently Sonico’s friend from middle school is a mother now.

Still a cameo [for cameo girl], but her two scenes do really seem to say a lot to me. For what I think is the first time, we see her with a friend. And then later, she has such an emotional reaction to the performance. Really seems like Sonico’s work has done a lot to inspire her. So an interesting end for her even if we only ever got her in small bits.

Nork22: Man… what a nice way to end the show. Sonico just oozes sugar sweetness with her carefree attitude. Seeing the people she met throughout the show puts a good smile to my face, especially for Toma (Sonico’s senior) who is now a mother. Also Gradma is certainly awesome, able to rock at her age.

Well, that is my Iyashikei/Slice of life for this season. Gotta figure out which Spring shows will be my next iyashikei series.
