No-Rin Episode 9
Sensuifu: I think this may be the awkwardest ‘beach episode’ I’ve seen in anime, and they weren’t near the ocean at all Though what could they do? They’re only landlocked country bumpkins caught up in the situation. Honestly, taking account the circumstances they were in, they made it work perfectly. And seeing Ringo going nuts with the rest of the group was rather surprising to say the least.
Library-chan: Typhoons: In anime, there’s absolutely no advance warning of them coming.
Sensuifu: I think they did a brilliant job of pointing out that fact. Not once, but twice.
Nork22: Oh jeeezz…. this beach episode went completely bonkers. The gang even tried to get Boobies into it, and 2 random one shot episode characters made the scene even more disturbingly funny.
Hitsugi Amachi: It was a really funny and cute episode in its way.
Sensuifu: It was, and I think it holds the reward for being the most unique, unexpected ‘beach episode’.
Hitsugi Amachi: Also amusing to learn a little more about all the landlocked prefectures and their inhabitants’ desperate desires to be beach lovers as well.
Sensuifu: Loved that; there’s always something educational in the show, regardless of how trivial it may seem.
Hitsugi Amachi: Poor Minori. Driven mad by beach lust.
Sensuifu: Seriously. I almost started to think Good Vibrations should’ve been used as BGM.
Hitsugi Amachi: And Ringo actually smiled briefly while in the bus. Could a cure for her condition slowly be coming? And if she could smile again, would she leave Tama No and go back to being an idol?
Sensuifu: Ringo has been smiling and has shown more expressions as the show progresses, but mostly over the little, simpler things it seems (soybeans, etc.). So it’s no wonder she’s so close to nurturing her farming, as that’s one thing that makes her truly happy.
