Kill la Kill Episode 19 | TFP Review

Kill la Kill Episode 19

Hitsugi Amachi: So, it looks like the end of the world, as the COVERS go across Japan destroying the academies that Satsuki had set up as bases of resistance to the Life Fibers. All that’s left is the remnants of Nudist Beach and the Elite Four to rescue those they can. Satsuki is caged by Ragyo and Ryuko is out of commission.

Our questions about parentage are settled and Isshin Matoi is indeed Ryuko’s father…because he’s actually Soichiro Kiryuin, so whoever called that one had it right.

It’s also clearer than day that Gamagoori is in love with Mako. They make a cute (and completely mismatched, but hey, opposites attract) couple.

The problem is that Ryuko doesn’t seem to have taken all of the revelations about her real identity and past very well.

EyeOfPain: Yeah, wasn’t really too surprised that Soichiro and Isshin were the same person. From the second episode, when Isshin was described by Senketsu, that whole thing sounded like someone in disguise.

GingaDaiuchuu: Ah, I really like this setup. I love me some FIGHT THA POWA vibes.

Also hilarious comedy from Mikisugi and Sukuyo. And Gamagoori is downright smitten with his Mako-chan.

Really looking forward to seeing how Ryuko ultimately reacts to all this. She’s looking pretty badass.

EmperorBrandon: Yeah, things are looking pretty bad for the “good guys” from the start. Pretty creepy how those business suits took over.

Looks like Ryuuko’s got some severe issues to work out (poor Senketsu, that’s got to hurt). I wonder if it will end up being her sister that straightens her out. Satsuki definitely hasn’t given up despite being in such a desperate situation.

Cool seeing the former rivals work together after we got the flash forward, from the moment we saw Nonon show up in a Nudist Beach outfit. Think some of my favorite moments were with Sukuyo, from her embracing Senketsu to her eyeing Mikisugi’s glowing parts…

EyeOfPain: That had me laughing through the entire scene.

Sly05: That was hilarious. Her smile as she ogled the goods made the scene.

EmperorBrandon: Speaking of the Mankanshoku’s, I do like how Gamagoori’s feelings for Mako are made completely undeniable this episode. It’s definitely getting to be rather amusingly cute, particularly her getting rescued at the end (I was wondering if that was going to happen so soon).

Sly05: Gamagoori’s crush is rather cute, even if it seems mostly one sided at this point. I never would have thought a musclebound bondage fanatic could be moe.

Gildor: With the announcement there will be no more previews, I sure hope that means that that time is now taken up by more show content. Yeah!
