Golden Time Episode 19 | TFP Review

Golden Time Episode 19

Buckeye: That’s just a nice episode here, and all that craziness going on in the apartment is just hilarious. Koko was about to puke during a kissing attempt, and then get stabbed in the forehead by the antennae of “Eiffel Tower” figurine, and Banri having a hard time figuring out when to give the ring to her. And then at the end, Linda and Chinami tell the exact opposite story about Mitsuo’s relationship with Linda. Linda says there is nothing between herself and Mitsuo, while Chinami says that the two of them are romantically involved and that she will beat up Banri if she sees him getting too close to Linda. Yeah, something is going down.

EmperorBrandon: I’m a bit happy Banri didn’t resort to lying to Mitsuo. It felt like it was going in that direction, but it ended up being Mitsuo that cut off the conversation. Still, Banri held back too much on what he was wanting to say and didn’t say it, and seems there will be much drama with Mitsuo and Chinami over not understanding Banri and Linda’s connection going forward. Banri and Kouko have gotten to the point of being honest with each other, but now Banri needs to do get to that point with his friends too. It’s interesting to see some of Chinami’s anger stemming from the fact that she thinks Banri is being unfaithful to Kouko.

Sly05: Ugh, unnecessary drama is unnecessary. There’s not really any reason for Banri not to tell everyone what his relationship with Linda is other than creating drama so I was rolling my eyes at Chinami getting mad at him.

The scene with Koko and Banri’s failed attempt at sex was good.

GingaDaiuchuu: Well it’s good to see that they’ve all stopped hiding things. Oh wait.

I guess at least there’s a little bit of effort being made, but the timing just has to make sure it doesn’t get out, so more misunderstandings happen!

They really all need to just sit down and say, “Okay, so here’s everything that will cause unnecessary drama between all of us if I don’t tell you now.”

Also, I didn’t realize that Linda and Oka-chan had never met. They must be the last pair of major characters.

Hitsugi Amachi: Yeah, Banri really needs to just spit out “Hey, Linda’s known me longer than any of you and knew the old me that I’ve lost. So, that’s why she acts so familiarly with me. End of story.” That would end all discussion. It is odd that Chinami has gotten so angry over the thing.

And when you’re planning to climb the stairway to adulthood, it’s best not to have any sharp objects or items that can easily be knocked over nearby.

Sensuifu: I’m glad to see some of the comedic bits return. Though Koko attempting to get it on while choking on vomit was wrong.

Gildor: Really Banri, stop with all the over-thinking of everything. Just give Koko the damn ring!

Sensuifu: Not sure why Mitsuo let Banri slide… Wonder if he’ll regret getting no answer from Banri later on. And Linda depending on Banri to help her avoid Mitsuo was a little weird. Considering what Mitsuo said about upsetting her, you’d think her cold shoulder would’ve been enough to clue Mitsuo. Why did she even blame Banri? And nice way to fall on dog shit.

[Regarding Chinami:] She’s pissed at herself/jealous yet at the same time considerate of Mitsuo’s confession. Her feigning ignorance and 2D-kun’s reaction to that gave it away. But yeah, her anger was somewhat overboard considering she’s partly to blame for Mitsuo losing interest in her. She does have a point though…that anyone could misunderstand their chit-chat as something else. What if Koko was spying on them and saw him pulling out that ring? She’d definitely go crazy wondering what that was about.
