Soni-Ani: Super Sonico the Animation Episode 7 | TFP Review

Super Sonico Episode 7

Nork22: Wow… what a tonal shift. It’s pure Iyashikei as Sonico travels up the country and making some friends along the way.

EmperorBrandon: Wasn’t expecting Sonico to take a journey out to the country by herself, but that makes for a rather relaxed scenic episode. Really loved seeing some of her encounters along the way, particularly with the woman on the bus and the glassmaker.

That twintailed glasses girl cameos yet again at the beginning of this episode. How long will we be waiting until Sonico heartwarmingly befriends her? (it better happen…)

Library-chan: Yeah, I wonder who she is. Also, why did Sonico take a trip by herself. She should have gone with Suzu and Fuuri.

Sabure: Maybe Sonico wanted to do a little soul searching. This episode certainly played out that way.

sonic: Sonico’s notebook that she wrote in appears to be her lyrics notebook. If you are able to read the notebook pages in Japanese when they show it, the beginning of the lyrics for “Star Rain” are there. So, it seems this trip was for her to get inspiration to write a new song, “Star Rain.” I think that’s pretty cool, and I’m loving the show thus far.

stardf29: This was an absolutely amazing episode. It was like they mixed Tamayura and Non Non Biyori with a bit of Kino’s Journey and with some Sora no Manimani sprinkled on top. Pure, wonderful iyashikei.

I decided to pick this show back up and I’m really glad I did; these last four episodes have all been really, really good. Looking forward to following this show the rest of the way.
