As has been said by the producers a few times in this season, they’re working towards building something really fun with Arrow, but that it takes time to get all the pieces in the right place. One of those projects is coming together for the March 19th, 2014 episode that will finally bring all the pieces together for the Suicide Squad on TV. We’ve had inklings of them before in other properties, but this one has built it together pretty naturally with some small behind the scenes manipulations by Amanda Waller as played by Cynthia Addai-Robinson.

“Dig was our way into Amanda Waller, and in this episode, Amanda comes to Dig and Lyla, and she recruits Dig for a mission, and tells him he’s going to need a team — and she saddles him with the Suicide Squad,” “Arrow” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said of the upcoming episode at a press event earlier this month.

The property has been around for a number of years and was popularized in the 1980’s with John Ostranders series of the same name that eliminated a lot of characters along the way which allowed for new retooled and rebooted versions to surface as well.
