Known more to Western fans as Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl, which was licensed and released by NIS America, King Records has set a new Blu-ray box set for Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko. The new release is set for March 26th, 2014 and will be priced at 26,040 yen for the complete thirteen episode box set that was produced by Shaft under the watchful eye of director Akiyuki Shinbou. The series is based on the novels by Hitoma Iruma and Buriki which were produced between 2009 and 2011 with the anime adaptation coming out at the same time the final novel was debuting. The Blu-ray box set release is slotted at nine discs, though that’s a touch deceptive in a way as two of them are CDs as the set includes the character song albums that were produced. The box set also includes a guide book, an illustration book and a novel.

Plot conceptThe story revolves around a highschool boy named Niwa Makoto. He lives with his aunt’s family since his parents are away on business. It is there where he meets his mysterious cousin of the same age Touwa Erio — who happens to tie a futon mattress around her upper body and is a self-proclaimed alien. Her staple food is pizza. Erio had been missing for half a year and was found floating in the sea. She doesn’t remember anything about what happened during that period of time, but she began to think that it was the act of an alien and wanders the neighbourhood wrapped in the futon.
