While the critics are out there in full force when it comes to Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD series, there’s still some good stuff to check out with it as they start strengthening some of the ties to the cinematic side. While we have Stan Lee making an appearance next week, Marvel is also now indicating that Jamie Alexander will reprise her role as Sif from the two Thor movies in the series. The announcement by Marvel didn’t indicate when we would see this episode, but they did have this to say to promote it:

“Last seen in “Thor: The Dark World”—now the third largest grossing Marvel Studios film—Sif has come to Earth with a very specific mission. Unfortunately, we can’t tell you just what brings her to our neck of the woods just yet.”

Te announcement also seems like it’s going to tie into one of the upcoming arcs that involves a four episode stint by Bill Paxton who comes on as Agent John Garrett “a rough-and-tumble former cohort of Agent Coulson [Clark Gregg] with a little bit of attitude and cigar-smoking swagger.  While Garrett’s comic iteration eventually goes robo-cop after being injured in the line of duty, this version “refused to sit behind a desk and doesn’t like the formalities of S.H.I.E.L.D. He’s going to help Coulson solve some mysteries and is not afraid to rig an explosive or two.”
