Originally in theaters in 2009 and 2011, the Macross Frontier the Movie 30th d Shudisuta b Blu-ray Box is planned for a May 15th, 2014 release and both films will be subtitled in English. Namco Bandai Games is doing a bit of promotion for the set now with a nearly three minute trailer that plays up the featuers on it and other materials for the release. The set, priced at 16,800 yen for the Blu-ray and 14,800yen for the DVD, will include Macross Frontier: Itsuwari no Utahime and Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa on separate discs. The releases will also feature the intro and ending sequences that were shown theatrically but changed for the home video release, finally giving it a proper version for fans who wanted what they saw in the theater.

Plot concept: Half retelling of the original Frontier series, half new story. Conspiracies arise within the Frontier government when Sheryl Nome arrives to the colonial fleet for her concert and is soon marked as a spy for Galaxy while childhood friends, Alto Saotome and Ranka Lee both try to achieve their dreams as the battle between Frontier and the Vajra draws closer. The first movie serves as part one of the Frontier retelling and concludes with the second, The Wings of Goodbye.
