Another of the winter 2014 anime season series has had its home video information revealed as we now have some idea of what Wizard Barristers: Benmashi Cecil will be like. Pony Canyon is handling the release of this show and they’re spreading the twelve episode run across six volumes beginning on April 2nd, 2014. The Blu-ray releases will be priced at 7,350 yen each while the DVD releases will be priced at 6,300 yen each. There’s not much listed in terms of what the first press materials will be like, but it does include a booklet.
In addition to that, there look to be some very good extras to be had here, including and exhaustive commentary track by Yasuomi Umetsu. In addition to that, there will be the web previews included. It’s expected there will be other on-disc extras as well but they haven’t been announced yet. The sixth installment is also listed as having a first-press limited edition item that will be detailed later.
Plot concept: Wizard Barristers takes place in the near future of 2018, where wizards and humans live side-by-side in Tokyo. While police continue to protect the rest of society, wizards are tried according to magical laws in special courts defended by wizard barristers. Cecile Sudo has just become the youngest wizard barrister at age 17, and begins work at the Butterfly Law Offices. However, unbeknownst to her, she has tremendous magical potential…
