Aniplex Japan Sets ‘Sekai Seifuku: Bouryaku no Zvezda’ Anime DVD/BD Release Schedule

With a pickup domestically already and plans to release it down the line, Aniplex Japan is setting the home territory release for Sekai Seifuku, aka Magical Warfare. The series is set to begin its DVD and Blu-ray release on March 19th, 2014 with the Blu-ray releases being limited editions only priced at 7,350 yen. The DVD release is getting a limited edition as well, priced at 6,300 yen each, while also bringing out a regular edition for 5,250 yen each.

The limited editions will be coming with a color booklet and a pinup poster as well as a special CD, such as a character image song or soundtrack. No on-disc extras are listed yet for this release.

The Madhouse production is directed by Sato Yuzo with scripting done by Fudeyasu Kazuyuki. Ebata Ryouma is doubling up here in duties by taking on both character design and the position of chief animation director. Kouda Masato is providing the scor for Flying Dog for it.

Announced as going into production for 2014 back in July, Media Factory previously opened the official Japanese site for Maho Senso/Mahou Sensou, aka Magical Warfare. Media Factory has several of their light novel series in the works to shift to anime adaptations, which comes after a few volumes of the novels and some of the manga as well. The original work comes from Hisashi Suzuki with artwork by Lunalia. The series is getting ready to roll out its sixth volume and Yu Ibuki has been working on the manga which began in early 2013.

Plot concept: In this modern magic action story, Takeshi Nanase is an ordinary high school boy who has a somewhat dark past. Due to certain circumstances, he formed a “fake” couple with his childhood friend Kurumi Isoshima, but otherwise, he lives a normal life. However, one day, he comes across a girl named Mui Aiba, in a uniform he has never seen before, collapsed on the school campus. This encounters changes Takeshi’s destiny completely. Mui tells Takeshi that she is a magician, and she apologizes, for she turned Takeshi into a magician, too. What Takeshi once knew as one world is actually two — one world where magicians live and the other world where humans live.
