No-Rin Episode 1No-Rin FUNimation

Nork22: 3 minutes into this show and I feel like I’ve been transported to one of Yukarin’s concert. I’m tempted to pull out my light stick and start waving in rhythm.

And then hearing HanaKana speak some country dialect (Mino-ben based on Wiki and the area this show is set in – Gifu). Then Marina Inoue speaking some country dialect too, oujou-sama version. Then there’s the teacher Becky, voice by Becky (Chiwa Saito).

And what’s with the wallaby they have as a pet?

Anyway not much about this episode. Set in Gifu (not in Hokkaido like some other farming show this season) and all of the characters go to a farming school. The MC is a big Yukatan fan but is soon crushed to hear that Yukatan has quit show biz. No surprise said idol comes to their school but obviously shedding the idol persona. Funny stuff will happen but enjoyed the silliness of this episode.

Yeah, this show is a keeper for me.

Momoka Kibi: I feel sorry for Becky & I’m confused as to why she’s not married yet. Then again she’s a teacher in anime. Maybe being a teacher is like a turn off in the anime universe. “You’re a teacher, sorry we’re breaking up”

Minori is amazing & she could easily be milked with those. Yes, I had to go there. Seriously I’m not complaining about her taking her shirt off.

I wonder if part of the plot will involve our MC learning to love the “person” instead of the “image”. With a bit of love triangle thrown in there. Let’s see how they handle that.

Let’s see how effective “Ringo” is in terms of fooling characters in the series.

Hitsugi Amachi: I’ve always wondered whether there was this epidemic of unmarried, attractive female teachers in Japan, considering how many we see in anime, but then I remembered…anime  It really is one of those odd and not quite believable cliches we keep on seeing.

But Becky is amazing in another respect: I thought Yoshinoya (Hidamari Sketch) was the wackiest teacher of this type. I think Becky has her beat.

As for the show itself, I kind of liked it. It’s nothing special so far, but the humor is generally amusing and I haven’t been annoyed by anything just yet.

Buckeye: Wait, I’m not watching Silver Spoon again, am I?

Alright, I get it that this is supposed to be about an idol who suddenly decides that he wants to do what Hachiken did. And then there is that teacher who is a cosplay fanatic. While this show is nothing really special, I am at least up for another episode here just to see how life at school changes when everybody figures out that a famous idol decided to go to school there. This show is on the outside looking in seeing how I already have Silver Spoon in the mix, but at least this should be at least entertaining.
