Sakura Trick Episode 1Sakura Trick

Buckeye: Ah, the yuri. This time, Haruka can’t stop lusting over Yuu. Too bad fate had other plans because of their last names, but sitting across the room didn’t deter their relationship. And their class will be the last one graduating before her school merges with its sister school. Then there’s instant yakisoba, and a jump across the veranda to reach a locked classroom. And in the midst of everything, Haruka will do anything and everything to sneak in a kiss.

This show is really funny, and certainly it earned itself an extended look in its trial period. Right now, it’s on the outside looking in, but it looks like it has a chance to crack my season slate that has only a few precious slots left. There is that and the fact that Fridays are only day without a show that has clinched a spot.

Momoka Kibi: Haruka has it bad for Yuu. Also, they’re definitely serious about the yuri aspect. Pretty much this is going to be an anime about awkward love birds.

So the power of yuri allows for awesome flips. Glorious.

Love the opening & ending. Quite informative in terms of who the pairings are. Also larger breasts on the right side, go figure.

I like the main couple but hopefully the others will get to shine. The preview for episode 2 indicates that they will maybe.

Minami Shizuku could end up being a favorite if the small bit we got of her is any indication.

EmperorBrandon: Yeah, the main couple was cute though I’m more curious to see some focus on the others.

Sabure: Crunchyroll gave me a nice birthday present – a pretty sweet and tender yuri show. The was some very passionate kissing scenes, and I liked the flip that Haruka and Yuu did on the B episode.

But what’s with Haruka’s unusual hair assessory? It looks like she’s wearing a big hankerchief on the side of her head  .

GingaDaiuchuu: That was about what I expected, and done a lot better than it could’ve been. Not bad; I’ll stick with this one. Ridiculously adorable and very good at it.

stardf29: First of all, I must make a confession: I am not a yuri fan. That’s not to say I hate yuri, but rather, the mere presence of yuri is not enough for me to automatically like a show. I know that sounds weird with Hidamari Sketch in my top 10 and shows like Yuyushiki and Kin-iro Mosaic being among my favorites of last year, but those shows have other elements that make me really love them outside of whatever yuri levels they have.

That said, this was still a pretty darn good episode. It was cute, funny, and had lots of fun interactions. If every episode is as enjoyable as this one was, this should end up at least as a very good show.

And yes, that flip was glorious. Though I’m puzzled as to how Haruka was the first one to recover from it, considering that Yuu basically piledrove her into the ground.

Sly05: The opening is bouncy.

No tiptoeing around the yuri here, Haruka and Yuu already can’t keep their lips off of each other! Indeed, all the girls seem to be paired off already so I guess everyone will be kissing.

It was colorful, cute, and cutely awkward so it has me sticking around for now.

sonic: Well, this was just as advertised; lots of yuri goodness. Wow, these girls moved fast into full on yuri mode; no yuri goggles necessary to enjoy. They certainly don’t hide what this series is all about to any degree; no subtle teasing here. Since they progressed that much in this episode, I wonder if there’s enough material to fill the season? Then again there’s two more couples of girls to explore yet. Good show to mellow out to, though the 3-D CG integration with the animation, outside the key yuri scenes, was a bit jarring.

stardf29: Also, the director, Ken’ichi Ishikura, has clearly taken some tricks from his time spent working on Hidamari Sketch with some of those visual effects.

Jun Kuga: I had heard of (and read the first chapter of) Sakura Trick already, so I knew pretty much what I was getting when I started the episode, but I have to say I am impressed. I was expecting very shallow yuri pandering. Instead, I got a sickly sweet yuri show with actual canon yuri, rather than just a Yuri Cannon. The three pairings are cute and each with their own dynamic.

Nork22: Yuri pandering show, yet it was rather sweet. The constant flirting the two have, at times I wish they got a room, but then they were locked into a classroom and the way to escape was to jump across the balcony (kids don’t try this at home). And can’t wait to see the other official pairs as well, along with their dynamics.
