Kill la Kill Episode 13 | TFP ReviewKill la Kill Episode 13

Hitsugi Amachi: Well, that was a hell of a way to start the second half. We see that Satsuki is not at odds, at least not on the surface, with her mother, though the two likely have different agendas. We also learn quite a bit about the Kiryuin family’s company, REVOCS and their COVERS (notice the connection between these words ) plan.

And the show tells a basic truth: Fashion is Evil

Gildor: I just viewed their interaction as Satsuki biding her time until her plans come to fruition. I thought that her “..and things are about to get more amusing” comment after she left her mother was telling. Now, its also obvious her mother is no dummy, and if Satsuki really wants to dethrone her, she will have to be at the very top of her game.

Hitsugi Amachi: I did not expect them to do something so stunning as…disrobe Ryuko (though it’s clear that things are not as dire as they may appear if you notice what she’s holding at the end).

Gildor: Yeah, me neither, not that I am complaining . But the fact she saved Ryuko from Nui reinforces my belief that Satsuki has plans for Ryuko.

Sly05: I’ll be surprised if the two of them don’t end up teaming up by the end of this to overthrow Satsuki’s mom.

Hitsugi Amachi: And it appears that Mako and Gamagoori are forming a comedy unit of their own for the show and it is glorious.

Not a bad kick off to the second half.

bctaris: I’m loving that. I’m just going to call it now that they’ll hookup by the end. (Or he’ll die saving her life, or something.)

Gildor: Agreed…It does seem to me they are resetting the registers for this cour. Just like at the beginning of the show, where Ryuko was not strong enough yet to take on the four henchman, much less Satsuki, she is starting back at level 0 with Nui and will have to become stronger yet.

bctaris: Highly entertaining and cleverly written, still. (Love again Nui being the only one meta-playing with her character title.) And it reminds me more that this possesses the smartest art design airing right now. Amazing to watch.

Buckeye: What a way to start the second half as all of the sudden, Ryuko lost the one thing left that is her reason for living, although she is holding a piece of Senketsu which I would have to think is what causes her uni to possess independent thoughts. While Satsuki is working with her mother, I would have to think that she has her own agenda, one that’s in conflict with her mothers considering that Nui is a big threat to it. I would have to think that Satsuki’s mother wants to rule the fashion industry with an iron fist, while Satsuki has something else in mind. With Ryuko’s uni now property of REVOCS that things are looking really bleak.

27CansOfTuna: Wherever this is going its going in the right places. One of the most wholly entertaining and enjoyable episodes and I finally laughed at some of its ridiculousness, thanks to Nagita for much of it bah if he didnt have to go away, ingenious shocking surprise though, and then the usual Mataro antics, and then slightly some times Mako too just being inserted into the assembly lines.

sonic: Well, this was a darn good episode. The Kiryuin family’s prowess is on display as we see their plans for not only school domination, but also global domination through clothing. Ryuuko is, gasp, defeated and Senketsu is all torn up and collected by Satsuki. Plus there’s now a war between schools looming next time. It will be quite interesting to see what Ryuuko will do to get Senketsu back, and how she plans to fight next time; will Nudist Beach or someone from a rival school help her perhaps? And on that cliffhanger, I can’t wait to find out what happens next time.
