While we’ve gotten the nod that FUNimation will be simulcasting Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha, there’s still a good bit of interest in what the Japanese home video release is like. Kadokawa is handling that and they’ve got a new promo out for the series now. The series is getting a ten episode run which means five DVD and Blu-ray releases, were the Blu-ray’s have everything and the DVDs are getting a limited edition and regular edition release. Blu-ray’s are slotted at 7980yen each while the limited edition DVDs are at 6930yen and the regular editions are at 5880yen. The Blu-ray and limited edition runs will come with a 64 page booklet and comic done by the original manga, several illustrations, post cards and a drama CD as well. Commentary cast also looks to be included in the release as well as the promotional videos and the clean versions of the opening and closing sequences.

The show, which is set to go live on January 15th, is based off of the 2010 manga series of the same name by Morohe Yoshida. It’s currently got six volumes published in Japan. The manga series is the first full ongoing title from the creator after doing the Star Ocean 2 Second Evolution adaptation. The series is being directed by  Toru Takahashi, who has largely done just episode direction and storyboards over the years. Of note, he was an episode director on ten episodes of Revolutionary Girl Utena and did some work on Azumanga Daioh as well. The series is being adapted and scripted by Touko Machida who has a very extensive list of credits across numerous shows from Karneval to Lucky Star and some Sayuki material. The animation is being done by Production IMS, marking this as their first full on production after assisting on Fantasista Doll and Mushibugyo.

Plot Concept: Fushimi Inari has a hopeless crush on her classmate Tanbabashi. One day, while trying to interact with him, she accidentally humiliates him in front of the whole class. He refuses to accept her apologies, and, to make matters worse, she discovers that he probably has a crush on their incredibly cute classmate Sumizome.

She has all these things in mind when she is summoned by Uka-no-Mitama-no-kami, a pale fox goddess. In return for rescuing a little fox-spirit creature before school that day, the goddess offers to grant a single wish of Inari’s. Without thinking, she blurts out that she wants to be Sumizome. As one might expect, this wish does not go nearly as well as Inari had hoped, and the kindly goddess breaks a goddess-rule to give Inari the ability to change herself back. Now, Inari can change her own shape at will, and using her new skill is very tempting as she keeps trying to win Tanbabashi’s heart. But if Inari flaunts her ability, both she and the goddess might end up in trouble with Amaterasu!
