Unbreakable Machine-Doll Episode 12 (Finale) | TFP ReviewUnbreakable Machine-Doll Episode 12

Buckeye: And so, the third novel finishes with an awful lot of information being thrown out there, one that sets the stage up nicely for a second season. There will be a six-episode OVA coming as the Japanese BDs are released, so there will be more UMD coming. While there is that stuff that tears a page right out of a harem anime at the end, at the very least it only lasts a few minutes. Charlotte is clearly the prototypical tsundere here with all of the jokes about her flat chest and that Frey’s chest is off limits as far as Yaya is concerned. Anyway, I am hoping for a sequel of this show comes out.

Overall, this is one of the most enjoyable shows of the season as it strikes a nice balance of plot, humor, action, and development. Yes, this show is far from complete, but it’s adapted from a pretty long novel series with more books out than episodes this season. So I wasn’t expecting much in the way of closure and that I prefer this over extreme corner cutting. Anyway, I just love that just about every episode left off on a cliffhanger of sorts, and that the bonds between the characters are quite complicated. The characters are all great, especially Charlotte, Yaya, and Loki. Plus, it has great music with a nice opening and a catchy ending theme song that has been stuck in my head. While the story is great, unfortunately I felt that it got way too complicated at times that it didn’t make sense, and the animation is pretty spotty as well.

Hitsugi Amachi: Sadly, the show has brought in inferior elements at this stage. Alice Bernstein is the annoying villain who is, thanks to the writer and nothing else, three steps ahead of the protagonist, who admits that he is not all that bright to begin with. While Sin is not invincible, thankfully, at his current level Raishin would not be able to take little miss manipulator and her overpowered droid down. So, predictably, Raishin will have to get more skilled and powerful before he can take her and her annoying butler down. Yawn.

But not just yet as we’re at the end of the season. Some decent quality to this show, though also quite a bit of predictability. Not bad overall, but not outstanding.

EmperorBrandon: I was a bit confused why Raishin was so dead set on Magnus when it seemed like his brother was who he was really after, but then it clicked for me that they could be one and the same (particularly with how one of the dolls with Magnus had Raishin’s sister’s voice, apparently made from her parts…). This episode confirms it with that bit with Kimberley.

Well, they finish up the battle this time in time for the harem antics as Raishin’s harem keeps expanding. Not the kind of antics (breast size comparisons) I care too much about, but Frey’s part in that was pretty cute.
