The end of Fairy Tail in anime form definitely caused a lot of concern for fans since it was out of the blue to them, even though there were home video sales issues and ratings aspects to deal with. But we’d heard earlier this year from the manga creator, Hiro Mashima, to be patient and that things would come around again. That now appears to be true as ANN has posted up an image from the next issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine that’s set for January 8th that indicates that the anime will return in April on TV Tokyo and others. According to the report, there are changes in the production team for the series such as animation studio Bridge replacing Satelight and Aoi Yamamoto is out for character design work while Shinji Takeuchi has joined the team.

Cast

  • Natsu – Tetsuya Kakihara
  • Lucy – Aya Hirano
  • Happy – Rie Kugimiya
  • Gray – Yūichi Nakamura
  • Erza – Sayaka Ohara

Staff

  • Director: Shinji Ishihira
  • Series Composition: Masashi Sogo
  • Character Design: Shinji Takeuchi
  • Animation Production: A-1 Pictures, Bridge

FUNimation has licensed the entire previously aired series for release in North America along with the Phoenix Priestess movie. To date they’ve released 84 of the original 175 episode run.

Series concept: In the Kingdom of Fiore, powerful wizards make their living by joining magical guilds and contracting out their services to become “wizards for hire.” Harnessing the forces of Dragon Fire, Ice, Weaponry, and the Zodiac, four young wizards of the infamous guild Fairy Tail team up to seek their fortunes.

Growing stronger with every mission, they travel the countryside helping people and battling rival guilds, but with personalities as different as their magic skills, this team may end up doing more damage than good.

  1. The reason of the end of the first Fairy Tail anime? Itself overtaking the manga too fast.

The reason why Satelight is no longer involved in the production of the upcoming continuation of the Fairy Tai anime? Satelight will produce the Nobunaga the Fool anime.
