Madman Entertainment Acquires ‘Hal’ Feature Anime Rights

1 min read

HalMadman Entertainment finished out their twelve days of announcements with a pretty solid release that we’re hoping to see more of with Hal. The 60 minute feature, produced by Wit Studio and already licensed in North America by FUNimation, will come out in 2014 from Madman Entertainment on multiple home video formats. No firm plans are set yet for a release date, pricing or which formats it will hit in. With FUNimation not having announced their release yet or anything related to the dub, it’ll come after that gets set.

Plot concept: When death separates young lovers Kurumi and Hal, “robot Hal” arrives to cheer Kurumi up. As the new Hal begins to uncover the couple’s secret past, a reluctant Kurumi slowly warms up to him. This beautifully-animated feature film explores the connections and conundrums that make us human.
