Through a bit of a convoluted method that’s wholly appropriate for something that takes place in the scheme of Haruhi, it appears that an anime adaptation is being planned for The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan. The Haruhi TV site went through a change/disappearance of its own yesterday and then gave a link to the Docomo Anime Store where it was announced in a simple message:
The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan Anime Adaptation in the Works
Haruhi-chan & Churuya-san are also being distributed!
The title comes from the manga of the same name by Puyo which began in 2009 and is being released by Yen Press in North America. Not surprisingly, there isn’t any further information at this time about the new series but we expect more cryptic messages in the future.
Plot concept: The spin-off of “The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi” begins! This time the main heroine is Yuki! The story revolves around Yuki and Kyon, about their school life, their club activities, their comedic schoolmates, and the bits and pieces of romantic times that the two have together.
