I Couldn’t Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job (Yusibu) Episode 11 | TFP Review
sonic: Now this was a fun and unexpected episode. I loved the Star Trek reference with Picard and the Enterprise; the Dyson vacuum, or rather Byson here, was funny too. For last minute plot threads this is actually really well done. Now Raul and gang must save Fino before she becomes the Demon Lord against her will. I’m excited for the finale next week.
Hitsugi Amachi: I’m not really thrilled when comedies go the “let’s have a dramatic finale” route, but at least this one is a fairly well executed example and they have retained some of the humor of the show (the “Byson” reference already noted by sonic, and the fight in general between Seara and Raid). It should be a rousing final episode, but all too predictable unless they have had some sort of creative brainstorm and will give us the completely expected ending in an unexpected way.
Momoka Kibi: We need a series with Seara August as the main character as soon possible. It feels kind of unfair we had to wait this long. Hence why a series starring her is a must. Especially in that outfit.
EmperorBrandon: Wish the fact Seara is actually really powerful had been more of a surprise to me (the official profile implied this with a tidbit still not revealed in the anime), but was pretty awesome watching her in action.
I still can’t stand that warrior outfit of Airi’s. Well, thankfully she managed to come to her senses. Fino is on her way to demon overlordship now, though. Kind of hoping that is taken care of relatively quickly to allow for the real villains to be dealt with in some manner and a decent epilogue.
Momoka Kibi: Yeah, that outfit is essentially horrible. Even from a “fanservice” standpoint it fails miserably. It makes me feel sorry for her.
Even [after] 11 episodes, ALL A is still the worst female in the series. Even better she got the honor of playing my favorite role in a series. One where a characters acts like a complete moron & only decides to stop being a moron after the fight in question has ended with at seemingly major injuries.
I know there are girls in the series that contribute far less to the plot, but to be fair not every character is meant to be story heavy. Eliza for example aside from providing another female character to admire, she & others are probably also there for more characters to interact with.
…
I realize Raid was supposed to be conning Fino & essentially lying to her. However you think she’d realize the flaw in her becoming the Demon Lord. Sure, it would give a reason for Raul to be a “hero” at least in a sense of the shallow hero.
However it would create a scenario where either Raul & Fino would be forced to avoid each other in order to keep the stalemate. Or alternatively Fino would be forced to fight Raul. Be it because Fino becomes so “evil” she cares less about maintaining the system & decides she just wants to destroy everything. Or because Raul decides that he’s has an obligation to defeat the Demon Lord even with the problems that would come from it.
I get the feeling one message this series has is that sometimes the motivation people have for doing supposedly good deeds is based on evil reasoning. Be it greed & a desire for riches like with Blaze or revenge like with All A. As Optimus Prime said “For something as useless as revenge”. I remember that line.
…
As for the Fino stuff, maybe the real villains will end up defeated before they solve the issue with Fino. Heck another series currently airing could end up that way too. Having the “main boss” defeated first & then saving the “tragic one”.
I think the worst case scenario we could get is Raul catching up with Fino, the show doing one of those “Gasp are we too late?” moments only to have someone say “Find out in season 2”. A lot of good that will do us since it’s start to feel like for every shows that gets a 2nd season, dozens fail to get one.
Nork22: Retail. The final frontier. These are the employees of the store Leon (and Lawsons). It’s mission, is to sell you a Byson, charge you for any damage caused, and to provide great customer services like never before!
Seara turning out to be a high class hero, I’m surprised, yet I’m not. I guess it’s one of those tropes where your boss is extremely competent despite the silly personality you see.
Also the Hero System was really a sham. With the advancement of Magic Item technology, they could have kill the Demon Lords without any effort, but they let the Demon Lord live because it’s how they keep the Hero economy going. Well, now I don’t know if Fino’s dad died on purpose, but that is Heroic in it’s own way.
Also not enough Fino this episode.
