Our Picks From Today’s 12+ Days Of Christmas At Right Stuf

3 min read

MenchiI should have done this earlier, but such is the way the Christmas cookie crumbles. We’ve been asked throughout the last week or so for some of the best picks from the 12+ Days of Christmas that Right Stuf is running this year with all sorts of bundles and deals. You can find all of Day 12 here but I wanted to offer up my picks for what’s a must-own from the list, at least with my strange, bizarre and twisted view of what I like.

Some movies just need to be seen. Colorful is definitely one of those where it shouldn’t even be researched, just experienced.

Because fanservice. Fanservice.

Part of a wave of dark dystopian futures, Ergo Proxy is hauntingly beautiful and could easily make the transition to live action film.

Because every house needs more Menchi.

I feel like I’ll carry a torch for this show forever. Family friendly, hugely accessible, great looking designs and the kind of stories that helps to inspire. The whole circus aspect is wonderfully handled and this is a lot of material for a pretty low price.

I love me some romantic comedy and this one hits a lot of sweet spots, literally so, with enjoyable characters all around.

A series that desperately needs its second season picked up, but the first season is a delight for those that prefer a more serious exploration of space and science in anime. It’s an absolute steal at $10.

Because it has so many haters. And I love it because of that.

Gainax working the princess angle and messing with the usual tropes? Such a great little show that really needed to do better.

While the show goes through the motions that you’d expect with a harem based series, it does it with a good bit of action that fits the flow and it also has one of the best visual styles of the last few years. The first season is an absolute treat and a must for a Blu-ray fan.
