We don’t usually see announcements for what’s coming out on Toonami this far in advance, but Aniplex USA is making sure fans know it’s coming so they can support it. Announced over the weekend through their Aniplex Live Show, the company revealed that the Blue Exorcist TV series will make its debut in March 2014 on the Toonami block. The start date and broadcast time will be revealed at a later date, likely through Toonami itself.

Aniplex USA has worked the property well since it debuted a couple of years ago in Japan with multi-stream simulcast on websites such as Hulu, Crunchyroll and Neon Alley in different versions. They released it initially on subtitled-only DVD and then brought out bilingual Blu-ray releases and are bringing out the theatrical feature as well on DVD and Blu-ray on December 17th.

Aniplex US APresident, Hideki Goto commented on the news saying, “This title was popular among the fans while it was streaming, but I believe the fans were also very excited when they realized which English voice actors were cast to play their favorite characters. I’m very excited to be able to work with TOONAMI to bring Blue Exorcist to many more fans in the US.”

Plot concept: Assiah: the realm of humans. Gehenna: the realm of demons. Normally, these two dimensions would never intersect, but having possessed all material substances, the demons are now intruding on the material world. But among the human race, there are those who can exorcise such demons – the Exorcists.
