With Ben Affleck doing a lot of work with Warner Bros. who certainly want to keep him happy after The Town and Argo as well as his upcoming turn in the new Batman/Superman movie, it’s not a surprise to see him taking on another producing role. Working with Matt Damon, the pair will work on producing Sleeper, based on the Vertigo comics series of the same name that came from Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. This is the second attempt at getting this made as a previous adaptation was lined up with Sam Raimi directing Tom Cruise as the lead. This new adaptation has Shawn Ryan and David Wiener working on the screenplay with director/casting to come later on.

Plot concept: SLEEPER is the critically acclaimed graphic novel series written Ed Brubaker and illustrated by Sean Philips, the Eisner Award-winning creative team of Criminal, which tells the story of agent Holden Carver, a reluctant double agent without hope of rescue. Tao–the criminal mastermind whose organization Carver has infultraited–had Carver’s only lifeline, spymaster John Lynch shot, leaving him in a coma. Tao’s cut off every means of escape, and he’s persuaded Carver to join him…for real this time.
