The interest in Kill la Kill continues to grow and after we talked about the home video release previously, we’ve now gotten a look at the mock-up for what the first Japanese Blu-ray release will look like. The show is getting a nine volume release that begins on January 8th, 2014 with new volumes following monthly. The show is getting a couple of flavors of release where the Blu-ray comes only one edition, priced at 7140yen each, while the DVD gets a limited edition at 6090yen and a regular edition at 5040yen.
The first volume brings us the first two episodes but with a two disc release as we get the nicely new designed package and artwork that also includes a soundtrack CD that has a number of vocal songs, remixes and background music for a total of ten tracks. Also included in the release are storyboards, a new booklet, the opening and ending sequences in clean form and storyboarded versions of them as well. The release also looks to contain an audio commentary track.
Plot concept: Ryuko Matoi is a vagrant school girl traveling from place to place searching for clues to the truth behind her father’s death – the “woman with the scissor blade.” The journey had led Ryuko to Honnouji Academy.
