Now that we’re in November, the ramp-up will begin in earnest for the December 13th release of The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug, the second film in the trilogy directed by Peter Jackson. Warner Bros. held a fan event online yesterday and one of the things that came from it was this new extended trailer that plays things in a rather serious manner overall, gives us more of Smaug’s voice and definitely sets a good tone for the installment.
Plot concept: The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.
