While last week was a little blatant with the whole Nendoroid aspect and its marketing, Miss Monochrome is something that can move past it fairly easily. With her wanting to be an idol, getting involved in such things makes sense, though it didn’t go her way there. Now, she’s all about the cosplay as her sort-of manager has found a two hour special being filmed that involves a lot of cosplay and she can try and get into it. Which leads to a great little montage of different outfits she can potentially wear for it. It ties in well with Halloween since it’s the kind of special and she runs with it well, all while carrying around a pumpkin for a lot of it. What she ends up doing for a costume is priceless though and is it’s entirely her, especially with the voice, as she torments the kids like crazy. She’s got the right idea, but it doesn’t fit the modern world.

In Summary:
Miss Monochrome plays with the Halloween theme pretty well and actually provides a fright, at least for characters within the show. I love the weirdness in the beginning as she spends her time walking around with a pumpkin and pretty much petting it. The costume montage is expected and I’m sure a lot of Yui Horie fans are coming up with wallpapers based on each of them and savoring the details of the illustrations. It’s a decent little holiday themed bit that hits some good notes and manages to not play up the sexy side too much since that often just feels out of place for the character.
