Valvrave the Liberator 2nd Season Episode 15 | TFP Review
Buckeye: That was some episode there. The Karlstein Agency is one messed-up organization that the Dorssians put those kids through. And there is something about Marie that just does not add up. She is apparently the same as Pino in a way seeing how she woke up from that gunshot by L11 like it was nothing. Considering everything that went on in the first half, it has set things up for this half to do what this writer is known for in Code Geass. Things are slowly unraveling.
GingaDaiuchuu: Oh hey, another look to the future, again giving us some more hints as to what will happen over the course of the rest of the series as well as making us wonder how exactly it will reach this point in that time.
Some decent time with L-elf and the girls (especially with Akira’s character being shown so consistently in the body of that kid, although Satomi going right back to acting the same about her and assuming she’s doing this for him is a little annoying), but other than that look at the future, the stuff with Marie is definitely the most interesting. The only problem is that there are other matters to attend to, and it seems like this Marie business has to be the immediate focus of the next episode, which may not work out so well. Either way, I’m definitely curious to see what happens now.
EmperorBrandon: I do kind of like the direction we’re going with Akira. It started out with just Shouko, but we are starting to see her slowly bond with other people. This time with Saki, which makes sense as she’s the only other female Kamitsuki. Well, not really, with the big plot twist this episode being that Marie is the first Kamitsuki (that has to be who they were referring to in the opening flash-foward scene, since she would be younger when she came across Pino and they mention she was 11). I have to wonder if the “set free” in the next episode title is meant in an ominous way. Kind of interesting how we’ve gone from Marie being a quirky boob-grabber at the start to some dead serious stuff all of a sudden now. She wasn’t a character of much note in the first cour, but as we learned there, we shouldn’t really expect anything “normal” out of any of the students who were placed around the Valvraves.
EyeOfPain: As soon as I heard that, I immediately thought of Marie. Not only had she gotten some extra attention the previous episode, but she is also the only one who could fit the description, other than perhaps the Dorssian princess, but we’ve only seen her twice, haven’t we? I think the “Set Free” from the next title will be mostly related to her lost memories, but I certainly wouldn’t be too surprised if she has some power or connection to the VVVs more than the other Kamitsuki.
The longer this goes on, the more I’m thinking we won’t get a timeskip to the period with these flash-forwards.
sonic: Very entertaining episode for me. I liked how things settled in and it got straight to the new plot right after the flash forward, which was a nice tease too. My expectations have just been bumped up a bit more and I’m eagerly awaiting the next episode. With so much going on I hope things will tie in well together by the end.
