Viz Media added a new manga license this weekend at NYCC with the pickup of My Love Story!!, aka Ore Monogatari!!. The series comes from Kazune Kawahara, who wrote High School Debut which Viz Media publishes, with artwork by Aruko. The series has four volumes released in Japan so far since it began in October of 2011 and is still ongoing. Viz Media intends to release the first volume in July 2014 with a new volume following every two months until they’re caught up with it.
My Love Story!! did well in Japan as it won the 37th Kodansha Manga Awards for the Best Shoujo Manga.
Plot concept: Takeo Goda is a giant guy with a giant heart. Too bad the girls don’t want him! (They want his good-looking best friend, Sunakawa.) Used to being on the sidelines, Takeo simply stands tall and accepts his fate. But one day when he saves a girl named Yamato from a harasser on the train, his (love!) life suddenly takes an incredible turn!
