Manga Entertainment originally released First Squad: Moment of Truth (DVD / BD Reviews) back in January of 2012 and now that they’re gearing things up a bit more through their online presence as a part of Starz, they’re promoting the show again. They’ve got a few new promo clips up of the show, which was sadly under the radar as it was a lot of fun, which highlights the different aspects of it with the action and story as well as the really good animation.
Plot concept: During the opening days of World War II on the Eastern Front, a group of Soviet teenagers, each with an extraordinary ability, are drafted to form a special unit to fight the invading German army. They are opposed by a Schutzstaffel (SS) officer who is attempting to raise from the dead a supernatural army of crusaders from the 12th Century Order of the Sacred Cross and enlist them in the Nazi cause.
