Pony Canyon Sets ‘Hal’ Anime Feature DVD/BD Japanese Release

HalPony Canyon has set the home video release for a new anime feature that debuted this summer in June with Hal. The 60 minute feature, produced by Wit Studio and already licensed in North America by FUNimation, will get a release on December 18th on DVD and Blu-ray. The Blu-ray edition, priced at 8190 yen, will be limited edition only while the DVD release will get a regular and limited edition priced at 2940 and 7140 yen respectively.

The first press/limited edition releases will come with an original soundtrack CD, a special booklet which will have manga, roundatable staff material, new essays and some new artwork. The disc will have new interviews, event video material, behind the scenes material and a look at the Kansei screening of the film as well as storyboards and trailers.

Plot concept: The happy life of Kurumi and Hal suddenly ended by a plane accident. In order to recover her willpower to live, the android Q01 was provided as “robot Hal”. During her life with the robot Hal, Kurumi gradually opens her mind to the android but…
