Starchild Sets Japanese ‘Coppelion’ Anime DVD/BD Release Schedule

The release schedule for the fall series Coppelion in Japan for home video has been revealed via Starchild and Amazon Japan as the series is getting its six volume rollout. The show will get its first volume on November 27th and new volumes will appear monthly through April 2014. The information at the moment shows us only regular editions being produced and no details on what extras will be involved, either first press or on-disc. The Blu-ray releases are priced at 6300 yen each with the last one being 7875 while the DVD releases are all 5250 yen each.

Plot Concept: In 2016 a meltdown of a nuclear power plant creates a big catastrophe in Tokyo. 20 years later, the city has become a ghost town due to the high levels of radiation. From that area a distress signal is received. The Self Defence forces dispatch 3 girls from the special unit Coppelion to search for survivors. But why aren’t they wearing any protection against radiation?
