Marvel Studios knows they have a good thing with quite a few of their actors, but one that has continued to surprise them on some level is just how well received Tom Hiddleston has been with Loki. Originally appearing in Thor and then being the main villain in The Avengers, he’s set to make a few turns in Thor: The Dark World, but it’s unclear what future the character has from there. Being that he’s out and about promoting any number of things, he’s pretty accessible and MTV caught up with him to talk about the November 8th release of Thor: The Dark World:
“It’s a roller coaster, no question,” Hiddleston said. “It’s full of ups and downs and loop-de-loops and twists and turns. It will take you to places you haven’t seen before.”
While he’s not the villain that he was in The Avengers, he did have a bit to say about the Dark Elves. “They have an ancient, ancient grudge against Asgard and against the reign of Odin, and they’re back.”
When it comes to his relationship with Thor in the film, Hiddleston had that covered. “Loki has a very complicated relationship with Thor,” Hiddleston added. “He is an agent of chaos without equal in the world he inhabits. He knows his true nature. He knows he doesn’t belong in the family of Asgard, and he’s locked away in the beginning of the film in the deepest, darkest recesses of the dungeon as public enemy number one.”
One of the best teases that may or may not play out is when asked what’s next for the character, he had an answer right there for it. “I do feel like there’s some unfinished business between Loki and the Hulk,” he said. “I feel like he didn’t get a fair fight. Who knows, you’ll have to see what happens in ‘The Dark World’ to find out where Loki finishes up.”
