With the first volume released a couple of weeks ago, Geneon Universal Japan is showing off what’s to come in the second installment of A Certain Scientific Railgun S on DVD and Blu-ray while also highlighting what the first volume had for packaging, first press materials and more. While we just got news that FUNimation will be bringing the series out in simulcast form this coming weekend, Geneon Universal is setting their plans into place for the Japanese home video release for A Certain Scientific Railgun. The series is getting an eight volume release starting on July 24th with the Blu-ray volumes coming in at 8190 yen per release while the DVDs will be a bit more affordable at 7140 yen.
Plot Concept: The second season will focus on The Sisters Arc. Lasting only a single volume in the Toaru Majutsu no Index light novels, it was later expanded greatly in the Toaru Kagaku no Railgun manga.
The arc focuses on the ordeals of Mikoto Misaka after discovering the existence of the Radio Noise sisters that are being used in the Level 6 Shift, an experiment where they are killed in order for the highest-ranking Level 5, Accelerator, can achieve Level 6.
