It’s just under a week ago that we reported on the release plans from Warner Home Video Japan for Ryo-Kyu-Bu! SS on DVD and Blu-ray and now they’ve rolled the first promo spot for the home video releases. They also put out yesterday a fun little live action music video promotion for the show and the music itself, which we’ve included below. The new series is getting a six volume release that kicks off on September 25th, 2013. The Blu-ray releases are priced at 7350 yen each while the DVDs come in about 10 bucks cheaper at 6300 yen each. The show was originally simulcast in its first season by The Anime Network and was set for a home video release from Sentai Filmworks, but ended up returning the rights to the licensor per their request.

The first press editions of the first release look like they’ll have some decent extras. The release comes with a special booklet, a new commentary and the first dounstrack which includes the background music and the TV sized opening sequence. The on disc extras also include an audio commentary and the clean versions of the opening and closing sequences.

Plot Concept: Talk about games being called unexpectedly! Hasegawa Subaru joined the basketball club at Nanashiba High, only to have his hopes dashed when the teams’ play is suspended after the captain is suspected of having inappropriate feelings for the coach’s underage daughter. Blindsided and blocked by bad luck, Subaru expectedly finds an opening for his talent with the hoops when his aunt asks him to take on the task of coaching a young girls’ basketball club – a Ro-Kyu-Bu!. But can a superstar wannabe find true satisfaction while playing sixth man to a team of five girls?
