Bandai Visual Japan has set the listings for their upcoming home video release for summer 2013 anime series Uchoten Kazoku and it’s going to have a bit of a plus for English language fans as the Blu-ray releases appear to be subtitled. The series is set to run for seven volumes starting on September 25th where the first volume is a lower priced one, with the Blu-ray 5040 yen while the DVD is at 3990 yen. After that, volumes two through seven will be priced at 7140 yen for the Blu-ray’s each while the DVD releases clock in at 6090 yen each.

The on disc extras are pretty decent as we get a gallery and a cast commentary as well as a staff commentary for the first volume. The series is getting a set English language name as well with The Eccentric Family. The Blu-ray releases also look to have some pack in first press bonus items as well with a drama CD and a booklet.

Plot Concept: In Kyoto, there are three kinds of residents: humans, raccoon dogs, and tengu. Shimogamo Yasaburou is the third son of the Shimogamo raccoon dog family. His father, Souichirou, had been the head of Kyoto raccoon dog community until he was eaten by the human members of “Friday Club”. While taking care of old tengu, fighting with other raccoon dogs, and playing with a psychic human girl, Yasaburou approaches the truth of his father’s death.
