Aiura Episode 12
Aiura Episode 12
Summer vacation is here and I don’t want Aiura to end.

What They Say:
Hello! It’s Amaya Kanaka! I believe it’s always important to be prepared for anything! And so, I’m going to say something that’s not very good! I’m now going to say something nice! …If I said that, I’d be raising the bar too much. …Crap, I forgot what I was going to say. Anyway, it’s the last episode. That was really fast. Anyway, thank you very much! It would make me very happy if we can meet somewhere again! Everyone, please don’t forget Amaya Kanaka! *The last episode is about summer vacation.

Similar to how the series started twelve episodes ago, the summer season is here and we get the fun of Ayuko going through the motions as she did back then before school started. Unlike before, she’s meeting up with her friends this time which will give her a very enjoyable summer vacation. It revisits some of those scenes in a clear and fun way as a group and the visuals are again one of the best selling points for the show as they evoke great feelings and emotions as we see them enjoying their time. It’s kept simple and not with a lot in the way of laughs, but it’s filled with heart.

In Summary:
Aiura has been one of the most charming of series I’ve seen, especially with its short run time, and it ends things beautifully here. It’s essentially a reworking of what the first episode was, now with friends, and that’s an ideal way to bring it to a close and I think it’s the kind of ending that the fans of Aiura would understand, want and enjoy. I loved this little show and continue to lament that short form series like this aren’t getting licensed as they’re small joys that really deserve to be shared more, especially with such beautiful designs as we get here.
