As the Gundam Breaker game gets closer to its release, more information and promos are starting to be released, including this new fourth promo which clocks in at six and a half minutes to promote the PS3/PS Vita game from Namco Bandai Games. The game, which is available as a free beta on the Japanese PSN (but is likely to disappear soon if it hasn’t already), you get to do the third person route for battle but it’s done as you play the plastic models themselves. This leads to a lot more fun not only in how the attacks work and how damage is displayed, but also in the settings that the game can take place in and some of the secondary games that look to be used. One of the spots here you can see the mobile suits fighting along a table in someone’s room where there’s bookshelves and more behind them.
The game plays in the same way as Phantasy Star Online. Players choose missions to tackle while inside a hub world. Once a mission is chosen players are dumped into a collection of zones, progressing through puzzles and groups of enemies to make their way to the final zone where a boss will be waiting. As you play, enemies drop various loot and parts for customizing your mobile suit, allowing you to mix and match parts of various suits together for wild combinations.
The game is set for release in Japan on June 27th on both the PS# and PS Vita with cross-platform play designed for it.
