FUNimation had a special bit posted up to their Facebook page yesterday about how they’re closing in on getting one million likes for their main account. That number is pretty significant as the anime market is pretty limited when you get down to it – at least in terms of people who buy – but the social awareness side of anime is massive. And a platform of a million people following you can be well utilized for things. FUNimation intends to provide some sort of announcement when they hit a million likes, possibly a new license announcement, so it’s worth getting that last eight thousand or so and to do it outside of a convention setting.
