Announced just yesterday as getting an anime adaptation, the first promo video has been released by Flying Dog for Arpeggio of Blue Steel, known as Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio in Japan. Based on the manga by Ark Performance, which has seven volumes on hand so far in Japan, the new show is being directed by Seiji Kishi based on scripts by Makoto Uezu. The new promo runs just over a minute but hits up a lot of action and character design material to check out. While the show has gotten the green light and we’ve got the promo, no formal broadcast date or season has been set yet.

Plot Concept: In the story, a Fleet of Fog loaded with super weapons suddenly appear all over the world. Without the ability to withstand this fleet, humanity was defeated and could no longer travel the seas. 17 years after the devastating naval war, Chihaya Gunzou and his friends somehow commandeer a Fleet of Fog submarine and rename it I-401. Together with Iona, they take on the Fleet of Fog.
