While we’ve been treated to the UK trailer for the finale of the Blood & ICe Cream trilogy with The World’s End, we’re now getting our first North American trailer for the film. It opens with a little nod from director Edgar Wright himself before it provides a slew of new material that we haven’t seen before as we get a group on a pub crawl that gets caught up in the end of the world. Suffice to say, we can’t wait. The film is set for an August 23rd release in North America and July 19th in the UK.
Plot concept: 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
