Sparrow's Hotel Episode 7
Sparrow’s Hotel Episode 7
Upgrading parts of a hotel is never easy for anyone.

What They Say:
The series revolves around Sayuri Satō, the new front desk worker at the Sparrow’s Hotel — “the closest hotel to Heaven.” Her special features are her large breasts and her skills of assassination. She takes down people who cause trouble in the business hotel with those skills, but she is in fact very unskilled when talking to the male hotel manager, and often bites her tongue.

With the nature of the show and its animation style, it’s easy to say that the hotel looks decent, but nothing to write home about overall. There’s a sort of basic nature about it, which is why it’s nice that we get a bit here about the large bath being upgraded and seeing the comical way it’s all put together. Not surprisingly, it turns into a bit of a challenge as Sayuri sees something different about the man that built it, Billy the XO, and it feels like it’s going to break out into a fight. But there’s a kind of restraint here that everyone is glad about, which in itself is amusing. Strangely though, this all feels somewhat abrupt with how it’s handled as it instead wants to deal with someone that wants to infiltrate the hotel, but can’t because it’s closed. But hey, we get some time seeing Sayuri sleep, so it’s all good, right?

In Summary:
With Sparrow’s Hotel, we’ve had some decent bits in the last couple of episodes and the potential to expand on one of the part timers here at first, but it instead wants to go in a different direction. It doesn’t produce any laugh out loud bits or anything, a few smiles here and there, but seems more like it wants to tease what’s to come rather than dealing with the here and now. That works fine for series that have longer run times, but with a show like this it really is all about the instant gratification. Of which there isn’t a whole lot of here.
