What They Say
When Ogura starts at his first real job after college graduation, the last person he expects to meet there is the adorable Yumi from his high school days. He used to be her upperclassman, but now not only is she teaching him, she’s also grown into quite the voluptuous beauty! Ogura simply can’t help falling head over heels… but is a relationship like that really possible between coworkers, even with all of the happy memories of the past?

Mizuki Asamori’s exciting short story collection is filled with love, passion, and all sorts of sexy shenanigans! Eight erotic tales featuring eight gorgeous girls with full, lacy bras and beautiful smiles make this volume Extra Juicy!

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
After a year of reviewing Project H’s titles, I’ve just come to face facts that female mangaka, or at least eromangaka that write under female names, are always top notch stuff. I didn’t expect this from a title called “Extra Juicy,” which is why reviewing these books is always a pleasure. Like all Project H manga, the book is oversized with nice paper quality. Sadly, there are no color pages this time, and with Asamori’s artwork, that turns out to be a real shame.

If I were to review Mizuki Asamori’s artwork in one sentence, I would simply note that she uses three different kinds of screentone to capture the curvature of her heroine’s rear ends. That’s an exceptional level of dedication, but that’s not all. Though her women tend to all look somewhat the same, they are all voluptuous cuties with big eyes and big breasts, and of course the detailed posterior curvature. She’s also a fan of large nipples as well, making it a disappointment that anything below the waist is censored out with white. Her male characters are cute and nonthreatening, although markedly less detailed. But it’s nice to know that even though the woman on the cover looks to be embarrassed and uncomfortable, all of the sex in this manga is consensual, and even romantic, if often improbable. But that’s what fantasies like Extra Juicy are all about, after all

Extra Juicy contains eight short stories with no connecting narrative, but some themes in common. Sex is always between adults, usually in workplace environments, between eager participants. The first story involves a new hire at a company who is being trained by a girl he once had a crush on. There are some voyeuristic shots of her butt with incredible detail, even showing her panties through her tight dress. The guy’s love is rekindled, and of course, the girl always secretly had a crush on him, too. She confesses her love, and he gives her head in return. They have sex, and the ending suggests a longer, ongoing relationship. The second story takes place at a convenience store, where the attractive young cashier in tight pants (with visible panty line, naturally) is threatened by a man our hero believes is a yakuza. It all turns out to be a misunderstanding, but the woman is so smitten with her would be hero that she pledges him her virginity.

Stories continue along with line, with another female OL supervisor, and older landlady, and a celebrity in hiding. There’s a meet cute, some admiration of the heroine’s posterior, a secret love confession, usually some oral sex performed on the woman, and explicit intercourse. It’s always lewd, but also fairly sweet, with the male fantasy played out in such a way that the woman’s pleasure is also considered. After years of some fairly toxic hentai, it’s appreciated to see something so good natured. Extra Juicy lives up to its title, but in a positive way, and I hope to see more of Asamori’s work in the future.

In Summary
This was a h-manga I wasn’t looking forward to in the least due to its title and the look of discomfort the woman on the cover has. Little did I know it would end up one of my favorites from Project-H. With light and sweet stories that always end with sex with curvaceous cuties, titles like Extra Juicy will do well to raise the reputation of hentai manga in the West. Those who prefer the posterior will be pleased.
