While little continues to be known overall about the November 7th, 2014 release of Interstellar as directed by Christopher Nolan based off the script by Jonathan Nolan, the casting continues on. We recently got the announcement that surprised many that Matthew McConaughey would play the lead role and now we’re getting the first bit of carryover that’s the normal in Nolan films with Anne Hathaway joining the cast. Nolan tends to spread himself to actors he hasn’t worked with as he moves along, though Christian Bale is a favorite of his, and we see that he brings in those he enjoys working with across all of his films which makes for some amusing connections to have.
McConaughey’s casting has turned quite a few people off of the film already, but he’s been working to re-invent himself in the last couple of years after being stuck in doing romantic comedies, which while not exactly box office burners, end up bringing in a good return overall. His upcoming wide release of Mud has garnered him a lot of critical attention, which follows his work with The Lincoln Lawyer. Hathaway was in last years The Dark Knight Returns and Les Miserables, which is where she won her Academy Award.
Plot concept: Interstellar will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.
