We haven’t had a new Riddick film since the second outing in 2004 that didn’t do so well at the box office versus its budget, but now nine years later, a third installment is coming thanks to the fan interest and how closely both Vin Diesel and David Twohy feel about the project. With a budget of $38 million, compared to the $120 estimated for the second outing, this is going to be a tighter film that plays more to what Pitch Black did in terms of style and budget. The teaser is just that, clocking in at twenty-three seconds, but it’s the footage some fans have been waiting almost a decade for.
Plot Concept: Left for dead on a sun-scorched planet, Riddick finds himself up against an alien race of predators. Activating an emergency beacon alerts two ships: one carrying a new breed of mercenary, the other captained by a man from Riddick’s past.
