With the early second season renewal for Arrow, the shows creative side is getting a chance to lay out that season in a big way by bringing on more characters earlier and expanding the regular cast a bit. We’ve had expanded roles for Roy Harper previously and a regular slot given to Felicity Smoak’s character as well. And now word has come down that Manu Bennett, who plays Slade Wilson in the flashback segments of the show (so far) has been upped to series regular. That doesn’t mean he’ll be in every episode, but it does mean a meatier role for the character over the course of the season and one that could have a bigger impact considering his origins with Oliver. The character of Deathstroke is one of the more intriguing ones for the series and seeing how Bennett takes on the character as the past becomes the present could be quite defining.
